Cams in automata By Will

A cam is a circular object that can turn circular motion into linear motion.

It goes round and hits a cam follower which will send the object going up and down ofr round and round.

It is important because the cam helps the automaton move and if there was no cam it would not work.

To work it needs to be on an axle. Another tip is that the cam cant move sise to side on the axle and it also cant be too close to the top or else when the figure goes up it will not come down.

If you want an automaton that works well you will need to know a lot about cams,axles,sleeves,shafts and cam followers.

THE STORM BY SAM

Bang Bang Bang the wind crashes into the garage door .

The garden chairs were pushed by the wind making a.

scraping sound. Like a tiger sharpening it's claws on the

rock.I open the window the wind was bursting though

making swishing sound. Branches were shaking with

fear. The wind sounds like waves crashing into the cliffs.

I look outside I could see my little plastic bike in the rubbish

bin. Moving like little puppets. Over to the right is see my

neigbours fence blow over.

The storm reminded me about a movie Percey Jackson

and the lightning thief. Thor was angry and made a big

storm and that was the end of the movie.

I didn't like the power cut. I don't like storms.

History of the Dinosaurs -Jeffery's opinion

Long, long ago when no human beings were alive (apart from cavemen), Dinosaurs ruled the world. One day there was a huge meteoroid that came down to earth so fast that it caught on fire and crash landed on the earth. It killed about 98% of dinosaurs and the others were a bit too terrified about the crash that they ran away never to be seen again. They probably died from starvation and got buried by dirt and then to be found again one day by paleontologists billions of years later. 

The History of dragons Will's opinoin

A long time ago when knights were around dragons were also around. It all began with the dinosaur's when a dragon was born and then another dragon was born and when they got old to their breeding age they found each other they started breeding which made more dragons then as more years passed there were over 100 dragons and so that's how the dragons began. Then came the Vikings which enslaved dragons and made them do all their jobs for them. Then they started to ride dragons then they had riding dragons so they had air battles as well as land and sea battles. After them were the knights which hated dragons so when ever they saw dragons they killed them. But the dragons were more blood thirsty then so that was the end of dragons hope you enjoyed your journey through time. By Will

A cam is a circular object that is very important to an automaton because it helps move the shaft up and down. It also is very useful because it can make the automaton a great toy for a baby.
A cam can turn circular motion into linear motion and also make it turn around and around if it has a cam follower attached to it. It is very important but without the other objects the cam would be very useless. If there was no axle, the cam wouldn't turn. Also if there wasn't a cam an automaton wouldn't  be able to move.
The cam drives an automaton by making the shaft go up and down. First you turn the handle to make the cam turn around then it moves the shaft up and down, the sleeve makes the shaft be stable and not go side to side.

Automata are very wonderful toys for every one to play with but if you want to make an automaton you have to know what important parts you need!

Its as high as a sky sraper and as noisey as a trumpet.

It is spraying warter all over the place whooshhhh.

I love Raukawa falls.

Flying Kiwi


I remember getting hauled up to the top of the flying kiwi and being lowered back down to the ground.
I could hear my friends cheering me, Like a parrot saying my name over and over again.

I felt like I was going to faint , The sound of the falls was like someone wispering to me in a dream.
