Team New Zealand - Pulleys

Team New Zealand

On a sailing boat pulleys are used with the sails.

The ropes go through pulleys and keep the sails tight.

The wind then blows against the sails to make the boat go fast.

The pulleys make it easier to pull the ropes tight.

A really interesting choice Daniel - yes pulleys are so important on a yacht. Do you know what the people who have to keep the sails taut are called? Next time see if you can include a little more information for us very imterested readers!
